The 14th edition of the competition for the best original creative work published in 2025, whose lead author is a doctoral student from Greater Poland or Lubusz Land.

We kindly inform you that the Poznań Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences has announced the 14th edition of the competition for the best original creative work, whose lead author is a doctoral student from Greater Poland or Lubusz Land. The competition is open to works published in print or electronic form in 2025. The competition will be conducted in five thematic areas, corresponding to the names of the PAN departments:

– humanities and social sciences,
– biological and agricultural sciences,
– exact sciences and Earth sciences,
– technical sciences,
– medical sciences.

Five-member evaluation teams for the above-mentioned areas will nominate one scientific work for the award. The winners will receive cash prizes. In addition, each evaluation team will be able to present one work for a distinction without a cash prize. All winners will receive diplomas awarded by the Presidium of the Poznań Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences and approved by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Marek Konarzewski. Winners of cash prizes will also be invited to give short presentations on their award-winning work at the June session of the General Assembly of the Poznań Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

How to apply?

Applications should be submitted to the office of the Poznań Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences by email (to kamila.sobkowska@pan.pl) between 1 January and 15 March 2026.

Last year’s edition of the competition attracted considerable interest from young scientists, and the presentation of the award-winning works was an opportunity to promote interesting results and their authors.
